How does Body Posture affect your Chakras

The concept of chakras originates from eastern religions like Hinduism and Buddhism. It is the idea that everything in this universe is made up of energy, including our bodies. By manipulating the flow of this universe’s energy, we are able to live better lives. In this culture, it is believed that people have several energy centers inside their bodies and each energy center represents one specfic type of energy. These energy centers, also known as chakras, are all connected. Energy flows through our body moving from one chakra to another. This is why it is important to remove any blockages in our chakras because it will stop the flow of energy in our body. Bad posture is one reason why your chakra might be blocked and why energy is not flowing through your body seemlessly. 

Posture is important for maintaining good physical health, breathing, disgetion, and other bodily functions. It improves circulation, reduces tension, and reduces the risk of certain conditions. In terms of spirituality, maintaining good posture allows energy to flow more freely though the body. 

Bad posture stops the energy flow and tends to make energy pool in one area. Think of a straw as an example. A person with good posture resembles a straw. Energy (or water) is able to flow from the top of the straw through the bottom of the straw without problems. However, what if that same straight straw is curved now. This resemblems someone with bad posture. As you can imagine, water doesn’t flow through the curvy straw as easily. Water will move slower as it tries to maneuver itself thorugh the curves. This analogy is similar to what it is like for a human too. A person will good posture be able to let energy flow through them easily, just like a regular straw. On the other hand, a person with bad posture will have trouble with energy flow, just like a curvy straw.

Good posture can promote a sense of balance and harmony by allowing energy to flow freely through the body. Good energy flow will allow all body parts to be connected and be one with either.  By maintaining a good posture, you are able to avoid having chakra blockages. Proper posture also cultivates mindfulness and body awareness.
